Who Can Apply and How? PSC offers opportunities to people at school, in employment, those out of work and those who just want to learn new skills. We offer a flexible delivery package so that when you want to start your training we are ready to get you started. The type of course you can enrol on falls into a number of distinct categories. Private Training - PSC Training and Development has delivered hundreds of qualifications in Team Leading, Business Improvement Techniques, Construction, Engineering, Manufacturing, Warehousing and Distribution, Customer Service to fee-paying clients. These courses often suit those that do not fall into any of the above catgories but are keen to enhance existing skills or learn new ones. Please contact us to find out more. Entry to Employment (e2e) - In conjunction with City College Plymouth, we offer the Construction and Engineering element of this programme. Primarily designed for learners aged 16 - 18 who are currently without employment, this programme will supply you with both practical and theoretical knowledge in relation to your chosen trade. Typically learners will attend this programme for a period of time before progressing onto employment with training or into a full time job. If you wish to join this programme you should contact your local Connexions office. Schools Programme (TVC) - At PSC we offer over 150 school students the opportunity to gain practical experience of all our trade areas through our work with the Tamar Valley Consortium (TVC). Students from year 10 through to year 13 attend twice a week to work in the Construction and Engineering workshops gaining practical skills and underpinning knowledge in Brickwork, Carpentry, Painting and Decorating, Welding and Motor Vehicle Maintenance and Repair. Train to Gain - Launched in August 2006 this programme offers free NVQ and Skills for Life training to those in employment but without a pre-existing NVQ Level 2 qualification. Working closely with your employer, PSC can provide quality, effective training for you in your place of work. NVQ's on offer include; Team Leading, Business Improvement Techniques, Construction, Engineering, Manufacturing, Warehousing and Distribution, Customer Service and many more.
